QA Automation Engineer

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated testing scripts for web and software applications.
• Execute automated test cases and analyze results to ensure application quality.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure code quality and resolve defects.
• Apply exception handling, debugging, and coding best practices in test automation.
• Work with BDD Cucumber framework to design behavior-driven test scenarios.
• Utilize Playwright for end-to-end automation testing.
• Participate in Agile sprints, manage backlogs, and provide timely feedback on testing progress.
• Monitor and maintain automation frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage.
• Track and report bugs using Jira, following the full bug life cycle.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Continuously upskill in new technologies, tools, and frameworks as required.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, contributing effectively to team discussions and collaboration.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Java (intermediate to expert level).
• Basics of JavaScript with the ability and willingness to upskill as needed.
• Hands-on experience in BDD Cucumber framework.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright for test automation.
• Solid understanding of exception handling, debugging, and coding standards.
• Experience in Agile development environments and sprint-based workflows.
• Familiarity with Jira and the bug life cycle.
• Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
