QA Automation Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing of enterprise applications.

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Python and Selenium.

• Build and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks.

• Develop and execute API tests for REST-based services and system integrations.

• Perform backend and database validation using SQL and MySQL queries.

• Validate data integrity, business rules, workflows, and system integrations across applications.

• Create and maintain detailed test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, and test execution reports.

• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using Jira.

• Analyze test failures and perform root-cause investigation in collaboration with development teams.

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and software release activities.

• Participate in test planning, requirement reviews, defect triage, and release readiness discussions.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Business, and other cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC.

• Identify opportunities to improve automation coverage, test efficiency, and overall QA processes.

• Maintain accurate testing documentation and provide clear status updates on test execution, defects, risks, and quality metrics.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA standards, processes, tools, and automation practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in QA, Software Testing, and Test Automation.

• Strong hands-on experience with functional and automated software testing.

• Proficiency in Python for test automation and scripting.

• Strong experience developing and maintaining Selenium-based automation frameworks.

• Hands-on experience with REST API testing and validation.

• Strong SQL skills with experience validating backend data using SQL/MySQL.

• Experience with Jira for defect management, test tracking, and issue resolution.

• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and software testing methodologies.

• Experience with regression, integration, end-to-end, and system testing.

• Strong understanding of defect lifecycle, test planning, test execution, and release validation.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Ability to work fully onsite and support PST working hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing enterprise business applications and complex integrated systems.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

• Experience with test management and reporting tools.

• Knowledge of API automation frameworks and tools such as Postman or similar platforms.

• Experience troubleshooting application, API, integration, and data-related issues.

• Understanding of software development and release processes.
