Role Overview
Responsible for end-to-end technical ownership, solution design, implementation, and delivery of services. Lead engineering teams, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure strong Agile delivery and technical quality.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end service design, implementation, and delivery.
- Lead and prioritize day-to-day activities of the engineering/delivery team.
- Partner with Product, Architecture, and Engineering teams.
- Coordinate across technology teams and manage technical dependencies.
- Drive Scrum ceremonies, delivery discipline, risks, and technical issues.
- Define and review API/integration solutions and ensure engineering standards are followed.
Key Technical Skills
- AS400 / IBM i and API integration experience.
- Strong .NET Core and REST API development/design experience.
- REST API concepts: endpoint design, versioning, HTTP status codes, error handling.
- OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys, and RBAC.
- OpenAPI / Swagger for API contracts and documentation.
- Strong JSON/XML payload handling and schema/data mapping.
- Experience with insurance carrier APIs, particularly quote, rate, and bind integrations.
- AS400 REST exposure using IBM Integrated Web Services (IWS).
- API Gateway concepts: routing, throttling, and rate limiting.
- DB2 for i to JSON data transformation.
Testing & Quality
- API functional and consumer-driven contract testing.
- API performance/load testing.
- API mocking and stubbing, including AS400 service simulation.
- Strong focus on API quality, reliability, and production readiness.
Experience
- Experience as a Technical Service Owner, Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, or similar role.
- Strong Agile/Scrum experience with excellent technical leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with service-oriented/microservices architecture is a plus.
