Role and Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows and VMware environments, ensuring system stability and performance.
• Develop and execute shell scripts (e.g., Perl, KSH, SH, AWK, SED) to automate administrative tasks and system management.
• Configure and manage networking components, including TCP/IP, SNMP, NFS, and NIS.
• Implement and manage RAID configurations and EMC storage solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues to maintain system reliability.
• Perform system upgrades and maintenance for Swift messaging systems, including coordinating upgrades and ensuring minimal disruption.
• Monitor system performance, conduct regular backups, and manage system security.
• Provide technical support and solutions to end-users and other IT team members.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to address system-related issues and implement improvements.

Required Skills

• Proficient in Windows and VMware system administration.
• Strong knowledge of shell scripting languages (Perl, KSH, SH, AWK, SED, etc.).
• In-depth understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, SNMP, NFS, and NIS.
• Experience with RAID configurations and EMC storage systems.
• Knowledge of system hardware components and their interactions.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
• Experience with Swift messaging systems and performing system upgrades.
• 3-5 years or more in a System Administrator role or similar position, with a demonstrated track record of managing and maintaining IT systems.
