We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong experience in Python-based test automation, Pytest, and software testing. The candidate will be responsible for developing automated test cases, executing regression tests, debugging failures, and validating automotive embedded software.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute automated test scripts using Python and Pytest.
- Create and maintain test cases for software validation.
- Perform functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Analyze and troubleshoot automated test failures.
- Triage nightly regression failures and work with developers to resolve issues.
- Validate software functionality for EV battery management systems.
- Work with embedded software and ECU firmware teams.
- Document test results, report bugs, and track issues.
- Improve test automation coverage and overall software quality.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Software Testing / SDET.
- Strong Python programming and Pytest automation experience.
- Hands-on experience developing and executing automated test cases.
- Experience with regression testing and debugging.
- Good understanding of embedded software and ECU firmware.
- Exposure to EV battery management software testing.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Must be local to the Bay Area and available to work hybrid in Palo Alto, CA.
Preferred Skills
- Automotive industry experience.
- Knowledge of Battery Management Systems (BMS).
- Familiarity with CAN communication protocols.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
