PeopleSoft Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented PeopleSoft Test Engineer to design, develop, and execute comprehensive testing strategies for PeopleSoft applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with PeopleSoft HCM, FSCM/Financials, CRM, or related modules, along with expertise in both manual and automated testing.

The role requires strong knowledge of PeopleSoft architecture, integrations, test automation, SQL, defect management, and end-to-end software testing processes.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on functional and technical requirements for PeopleSoft applications.

• Collaborate with developers, Business Analysts, functional teams, and stakeholders to understand application functionality and technical requirements.

• Identify and document test data requirements for manual and automated testing.

• Execute functional, integration, system, regression, end-to-end, and performance testing.

• Perform end-to-end testing across PeopleSoft modules to validate business requirements and system integrations.

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF), Selenium, QTP/UFT, or other automation frameworks.

• Maintain and enhance automation suites to improve test coverage, reliability, and efficiency.

• Validate test data and application results using SQL queries.

• Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA, HP ALM, or similar defect management tools.

• Participate in defect triage and collaborate with development teams to investigate, prioritize, and resolve issues.

• Perform performance testing and analyze application response time, scalability, and stability.

• Prepare detailed test reports covering test execution, coverage, results, defects, and quality metrics.

• Maintain testing documentation, test artifacts, and traceability throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test data, test scenarios, and supporting end users.

• Collaborate with project teams during releases and deployments to support a smooth transition to production.

• Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, automation coverage, and overall application quality.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 3+ years of experience in PeopleSoft testing.

• Experience testing PeopleSoft HCM, FSCM/Financials, CRM, or other PeopleSoft modules.

• Strong understanding of manual and automated software testing methodologies.

• Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF) and test automation tools such as Selenium or QTP/UFT.

• Strong understanding of PeopleSoft architecture, integrations, interfaces, and module-specific functionality.

• Proficiency in SQL for test data validation and database testing.

• Experience with defect management tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, or similar platforms.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner or JMeter.

• Experience testing cloud-based PeopleSoft environments, including Oracle Cloud.

• Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automation frameworks such as Jenkins or Bamboo.

• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

• PeopleSoft or testing certifications such as Oracle PeopleSoft certifications or ISTQB.
