Primary Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to support data warehouse and analytics platforms using Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Cloud DataFusion, Composer/Airflow, and Dataflow.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of data solutions that meet business requirements and objectives.
• Create and optimize ETL processes for data integration and transformation using tools like Composer/Airflow, SSIS, and DataFusion.
• Manage and optimize data models, SQL queries, and database performance to support business intelligence applications and reporting.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and infrastructure to ensure the continuous and smooth flow of data across the platform.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with stakeholders in iterative sprints to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Maintain and document data engineering processes, workflows, and systems in Jira and Confluence.
• Ensure data security and compliance by implementing best practices for managing data access and governance.
• Continuously enhance and optimize data systems, tools, and technologies to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be a Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in database warehousing, specifically with Oracle or BigQuery.
• At least 3 years of experience in ETL development using tools such as Composer/Airflow, Google Data Fusion, or SSIS.
• 1+ years of experience working in an Agile environment and participating in Agile ceremonies.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Memory Store, Dataflow, Composer/Airflow, and Cloud DataFusion.
• Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Preferred Skills

• Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, Agile development environment.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, especially in cloud environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
