Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Specialist to join our IT team. As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization's desktop computing environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years and 10 years of experience in desktop support and IT troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop operating systems and software applications.
  • Perform hardware upgrades and replacements as needed, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to implement and maintain network connectivity and printer configurations.
  • Assist in the setup and support of video conferencing and audio-visual equipment.
  • Respond to and resolve help desk tickets and service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory.
  • Conduct software installations, updates, and patches to ensure security and compliance.
  • Educate end-users on best practices and provide training when necessary.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to provide proactive support and recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 6 years and 10 years of experience in desktop support or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems, including Windows and macOS.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other common business applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
