We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Desktop Support Specialist to join our IT team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in providing technical support for desktop systems, hardware, and software.
Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users for desktop-related issues, both hardware and software.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop computers, peripherals, and related equipment.
- Set up and maintain user accounts and permissions.
- Respond to help desk tickets and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues.
- Conduct regular maintenance and updates on desktop systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in the implementation of IT policies and procedures.
- Train end-users on the proper use of desktop systems and software.
- Ensure data security and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Keep abreast of the latest technology trends and advancements in desktop support.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience of 5 to 10 years as a Desktop Support Specialist or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of desktop hardware, operating systems, and software applications (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Familiarity with network protocols and basic troubleshooting.
- Experience with Active Directory and user account management.
- Knowledge of remote support tools and techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a customer-oriented mindset.
