As a z/OS System Programmer, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the z/OS operating system environment. Your role involves ensuring the stability, security, and performance of mainframe systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and other teams to design, implement, and optimize z/OS system components
• Evaluate system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements.
• Manage databases on z/OS, including backup and recovery procedures
• Ensure data integrity, availability, and performance
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks
• Monitor system metrics and automate routine functions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of work experience.
• Solid understanding of system, application, and database design principles
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., COBOL, Assembler, PL/I)
• Proficiency in maintenance tools and procedures
• Strong database management skills, including backup and recovery
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
