Role: Workday Test Lead
Location : Irvine, CA Hybrid Onsite
Duration: 12+ Months
Job Description
This is a 12+ month contract opportunity and there is a high preference for local candidates who can work onsite for 2-3 days per week.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Workday development methodologies.
- Experience with Workday HCM.
- Experience with Smart Test, Workday’s Automated Test Tool is preferred.
- Experience as a Workday test lead during an implementation.
- Experience coordinating testing between Workday projects/external integration projects.
- Experience in resolving post-go-live security issues.
- Experience with Smartsheets.
- Strong understanding of Workday testing cycles, methodologies, Smart Test Workday’s Automated Test tool (preferred) and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the execution of test cases, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.
- Work with team members, testing vendors (Cross view), and functional SMEs to develop test scripts to validate data for tenant builds. Participate in JAD sessions.
- Monitor and analyze test results, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
- Implement and manage automated testing processes to enhance efficiency.
- Conduct reviews of testing processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Strategize and organize data validation for go-live activities.
Assist in delegating and resolving post go-live security issues.
- Develop comprehensive test plans outlining the scope, objectives, resources, and schedule.
- Define testing strategies, methodologies, and test execution processes.
- Coordinate with external integration projects with workday team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish testing goals and acceptance criteria.
- Communicate testing progress, issues, and risks to project stakeholders, including project managers, developers, and business analysts. Drive completion and sign-off of the various Workday testing cycles.
- Publish defect matrix.
- Collaborate with cross-functional, development and product teams to resolve defects and improve software quality.
- Deliver testing statistics to client executives to review progress of the testing program.
- Document new and updated test scenario descriptions in the test system.
- Identify and assess potential risks related to testing and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively address and resolve issues impacting the testing process or project timelines.
- Create and maintain comprehensive testing documentation, including test plans, cases, and reports.
- Ensure that all testing activities are well-documented for future reference and audits.
- Communicate with PM and external third-party application owners' test schedules, including scheduling meetings.
- Secure final sign-off for system integration testing and user acceptance test.
- Provide input to the testing dashboards and reports design.
