Windows SQL Server Administrator

Roles and Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows patching.
• Monitor system performance; troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Implement, support, and maintain backup/recovery solutions and disaster recovery plans.
• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and scripts to support automation and reporting.
• Collaborate with development and application teams to ensure system compatibility and optimal performance.
• Work with technical teams and management to address system issues and provide solutions.
• Maintain security best practices, including system hardening and vulnerability management.
• Produce and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and change controls.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in Windows system administration in mid to large-scale environments.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (installation, maintenance, scripting, performance tuning).
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix).
• Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management processes is a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Detail-oriented and customer-focused.
• Bachelor’s Degree
