Windchill Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Windchill Administrator to manage, configure, and optimize Windchill environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Windchill installation, upgrades, customizations, and cloud deployments, along with strong scripting and troubleshooting skills.

Technical / Functional Skills

• Proven experience in Windchill installation, configuration, and administration across Linux, Windows, and AWS environments.

• Hands-on experience with Windchill integrations and component configuration.

• Windchill upgrade expertise, including applying patches, hotfixes, and major version upgrades.

• Deployment and administration of Windchill in IaaS cloud models.

• 5–8 years of Windchill customization experience, including:

  • Windchill Data Utilities, Form Validators, Soft Typing (Type & Attribute Manager)

  • Loader Mechanisms, ACLs, Workflow & Lifecycle configuration with necessary customizations

  • JDBC connections and query specification development following PTC best practices for APIs

• Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python, or TCL for Windchill administration tasks.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade Windchill components and integrations in cloud environments according to migration and upgrade plans.

• Support bulk data migration from on-premises systems to the cloud, ensuring data integrity and consistency.

• Test deployed solutions, including workflows, configurations, and integrations, to ensure functionality and compliance.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system errors, performance issues, and data anomalies using logs and monitoring tools.

• Monitor and optimize application and database performance in the cloud.

• Propose solutions and address issues arising during Windchill cloud migration and upgrade projects.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for the cloud environment, including processes, procedures, and configurations.

• Act as a liaison between PTC support, IT teams, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure project success.

• Lead, mentor, and guide the Windchill team in cloud migration and upgrade activities.

Managerial & Collaboration Skills

• Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, and project managers to translate requirements into technical solutions.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including IT, PLM specialists, and business users to ensure successful Windchill migration and upgrades.

• Provide training, mentoring, and support to junior Windchill administrators and team members.
