VMware Engineer

Role Overview

Responsible for managing and supporting VMware virtual infrastructure and enterprise backup solutions, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and disaster recovery across on-premises and Azure-based environments.

VMware Administration

• Manage and maintain VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
• Provision, configure, and optimize virtual machines
• Monitor performance and ensure HA, DRS, and cluster stability
• Perform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
• Manage SAN/NAS storage and virtual networking
• Conduct capacity planning and resource optimization

Veeam Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Design and manage Veeam Backup & Replication solutions
• Configure backup, replication, and recovery workflows
• Perform backup validation and restore testing
• Manage repositories, retention policies, and storage efficiency
• Ensure compliance with RPO/RTO requirements
• Troubleshoot backup and recovery issues

Cloud & Infrastructure Support

• Support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) deployment and operations
• Manage Azure IaaS, networking, storage, and identity services
• Implement FSLogix profile management
• Support Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policies
• Assist in disaster recovery and business continuity planning

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
• Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
• Knowledge of Azure services and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
• Proficiency in Windows Server and Active Directory
• PowerShell scripting skills
• Understanding of Azure AD, MFA, and security best practices
• Familiarity with DR/BCP concepts

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
• Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty (AZ-140)
• Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
