Job Description
Responsibilities
- Administer vSphere, ESXi hosts, and vCenter, including HA, DRS, vMotion, clusters, resource pools, snapshots, and templates.
- Perform host patching, upgrades, and hardening in line with compliance standards.
- Manage VM lifecycle provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting across CPU, memory, storage, and network layers.
- Support SAN/NAS storage integrations (VMFS, iSCSI, NFS) and backup/DR platforms (Veeam, SRM, Zerto, Cohesity, Rubrik).
- Automate provisioning and operations using PowerShell/PowerCLI, Ansible, and APIs.
- Monitor environments using vROps or equivalent tools; ensure capacity and performance.
- Participate in incident, problem, change, and request management, including RCA and corrective action implementation.
- Create and maintain system documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
- Collaborate with network, storage, cloud, and security teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotation and major incident response activities.
Mandatory Skills
- 7+ years hands-on VMware vSphere/ESXi administration.
- Expertise in vCenter operations: HA, ELM, PSC, templates, snapshots.
- Knowledge of virtual networking (dvSwitch, VLAN, VXLAN; NSX-T preferred).
- Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation / cloud integration.
- SAN/NAS storage management (VMFS, iSCSI, NFS).
- Familiarity with DR, replication, and backup platforms.
- Strong PowerShell/PowerCLI scripting and automation skills.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux administration.
- Understanding of ITIL/structured ITSM processes.
Preferred Experience
- NSX-T micro-segmentation and network virtualization.
- VMware vRealize suite (vROps, vRA).
- VMware Horizon VDI support.
- Enterprise datacenter and multi-cloud integration experience (Azure/AWS/GCP/Oracle).
