Roles and Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the Installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrading Database server.
• Implement and maintain database security.
• Maintained Vertica databases and assisted with regular OS patching.
• Maintain database services, database monitoring and performance tuning, and resource management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Vertica issues for aggressive SLA needs in a production environment.
• Enhance and add more tools for the automation of manual tasks for DBA activities - bash and python.

Required Qualifications/Skills

• Minimum 10+ years experience in Vertica and managing several multi-terabyte Vertica databases both on-prem and cloud.
• Expert Knowledge of Vertica Architecture - Vertica Enterprise and Vertica Eon.
• Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices.
• Expertise in installing/upgrading and maintaining 50+ Vertica environments.
• 10+ years of experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization in Vertica which includes projections, and partitions.
• Experience in working in mission-critical production environments.
• Experience in working with database backup and recovery, and resolving production database incidents.
