The Unix/Linux Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of Unix/Linux servers in a production environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Unix/Linux operating system, as well as experience with common system administration tools and technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux servers
- Perform system administration tasks such as user account management, file system management, and performance monitoring
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect Unix/Linux systems from unauthorized access and attack
- Troubleshoot and resolve Unix/Linux system problems
- Work with other IT team members to support the company's business needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5 to 8 years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration
- Strong understanding of the Unix/Linux operating system and common system administration tools and technologies
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Skills:
- Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform
- Experience with DevOps practices and methodologies
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
