TypeScript Architect

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design and evolve scalable, resilient, and high-performance architectures for distributed systems.
• Create architectural designs, technical specifications, and implementation roadmaps.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
• Break down complex initiatives into actionable tasks with clear acceptance criteria and accurate LOE estimates.
• Own end-to-end delivery of critical features and platform enhancements.
• Mentor engineers and drive engineering best practices, coding standards, and code quality.
• Optimize DynamoDB (query performance, indexing, capacity planning, cost optimization).
• Improve Kafka performance through partitioning, throughput tuning, and monitoring.
• Implement resilience patterns including circuit breakers, retries, and fault tolerance.
• Drive TypeScript code quality, performance optimization, scalability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability, latency, and throughput.

Required Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in architecture roles.
• Expert-level TypeScript/Node.js development experience.
• Strong AWS expertise (Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS, API Gateway).
• Deep understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture (Kafka).
• Experience with scalability, performance tuning, and resilience patterns.
• Proven track record of architecting and delivering complex systems.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with DataDog, Splunk, New Relic, CloudWatch, or Grafana.
• Knowledge of SRE, DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation).
• Experience with GraphQL, REST APIs, and API Gateway patterns.
