Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Create and improve T-SQL stored procedures, functions, and triggers for high-transaction systems.
  • Design and set up database structures, tables, and relationships to ensure data is correct and runs smoothly.
  • Use Perl scripts to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data.
  • Automate regular database maintenance and system tasks using Perl.
  • Work with the development team to connect database operations with existing Perl applications.
  • Improve the performance of T-SQL queries and indexes to make the database run more efficiently.
  • Manage database backups, restores, and updates, ensuring data security and compliance with industry standards.
  • Support database-related issues by troubleshooting and resolving problems quickly.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for database designs and Perl scripts.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in database development and scripting.

 

Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in database development with strong T-SQL skills.
  • Proficient in Perl scripting with experience in developing and maintaining scripts.
  • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a plus.
  • Understanding of database design principles and transactional systems.
  • Knowledge of performance tuning, query optimization, and database maintenance.
  • Good understanding of data privacy and security principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
