We are seeking a skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of components from our suppliers in heavy engineering products. The role involves supplier evaluation, process audits, product development support, and ensuring seamless production launches while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct supplier evaluations, audits (PCPA), and monitor performance.
- Implement APQP, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
- Support design reviews and ensure manufacturability.
- Lead tooling kick-offs, track development, and validate readiness of fixtures, gauges, and tools.
- Manage tool trials (T0–T3), parts fitment reports, and corrective actions.
- Approve parts for fit & function and implement ECN/FETE changes.
- Oversee testing, validation, and safe product launches (PSW sign-off, SOP ramp-up).
- Drive supplier performance improvement and excellence in delivery.
- Travel up to 30–40% to supplier locations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong exposure to heavy engineering products, including forging, casting, machining, sheet metal fabrication, and standard hardware.
- Proficient in material standards, AWS welding standards, and interpreting complex engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of sheet metal design, GDT, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
