Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage and support Linux/UNIX operating systems, ensuring performance, security, and high availability.
• Configure and maintain virtualization platforms and cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain automated scripts (Python, Bash, KornShell) for system management and automation.
• Manage IBM AIX systems on Power Systems, including VIO servers and HMCs.
• Implement security best practices across Linux/UNIX environments, including managing SPNs and keytab files.
• Oversee patch management solutions (e.g., Red Hat Satellite) for Linux environments.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply performance tuning.
• Administer Apache/Tomcat application servers and support database environments on Linux platforms.
• Lead and mentor teams, ensuring adherence to best practices in infrastructure management.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive expertise in Linux and UNIX operating systems, cloud computing, and virtualization platforms.
• Strong scripting skills with Python, KornShell (ksh), and Bash shell scripting.
• In-depth understanding of security best practices in Linux/UNIX environments.
• Significant experience with IBM AIX on Power Systems, including managing VIO servers and HMCs.
• Proficiency with patch management tools such as Red Hat Satellite.
• Strong background in system performance tuning and monitoring.
• Experience with Apache/Tomcat application servers and databases on Linux platforms.
