Job Description

The Senior Epic Developer will be responsible for the analysis, design, and implementation of reporting solutions within the Epic environment. This role will involve working closely with application analysts and report consumers to understand their needs, as well as creating and maintaining reports across various clinical and financial modules.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze reporting needs and provide specifications for the development of individual reports to support clinical and financial modules.
  • Design and implement SQL extracts as required for reporting.
  • Utilize Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, SlicerDicer, and other Epic reporting tools to create meaningful insights.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle to ensure effective report generation.
  • Leverage high-level SQL knowledge, including relational database concepts such as primary and foreign keys, joins, etc., to facilitate data extraction and reporting.
  • Understand system builds, end-user workflows, and patterns of use to deliver relevant reports that meet consumer needs.
  • Collaborate with application analysts and report consumers to gather and refine reporting requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of data visualization tools, such as Tableau, to enhance report presentation and usability.
  • Familiarize with SSAS Cubes and Business Objects Webi Reporting for advanced reporting solutions.
  • Understand registries, rules, properties, custom PAFs, build wizard, and backfills related to Epic reporting.
  • Maintain Epic certifications in non-reporting modules as preferred.
  • Document reporting processes and maintain comprehensive records of reporting requirements and solutions.
  • Provide support and training to end-users on report usage and interpretation.

 

Qualifications/Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics or a related field.
  • Epic Certified in Cogito clinical domain; Epic Certified in Cogito financial domain is preferred.
  • Proven experience analyzing, designing, and developing reports for clinical and financial modules.
  • Proficient understanding of Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, SlicerDicer, and other Epic reporting tools.
  • Strong SQL skills and relational database knowledge.
  • In-depth understanding of system builds, workflows, and end-user requirements.
  • Technical expertise in designing and writing reports, coupled with operational knowledge to meet consumer needs.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) and reporting tools (e.g., SSAS Cubes, Business Objects Webi Reporting).
  • Knowledge of registries, rules, properties, custom PAFs, build wizard, and backfills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with application analysts and report consumers.
