Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data modules and frameworks using Cognos, with a focus on Cognos Analytics.
• Create and maintain robust data models using Cognos Data Modules and Framework Manager to support analytics projects.
• Work with large enterprise clients in banking or insurance domains to understand their BI needs and deliver effective solutions.
• Utilize advanced SQL to manage and query large datasets, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define BI data models (Star schema, Snowflake), and provide insights on data structure improvements.
• Analyze data processes and workflows to identify opportunities for optimization and process improvements.
• Communicate data governance initiatives, project status, and findings to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Ensure compliance with data governance standards and best practices throughout development and deployment.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior team members, guiding them through development tasks and troubleshooting.

Skills & Experience

• 7-10 years of experience as a Cognos Developer, including hands-on experience with Cognos Analytics and related tools.
• Extensive experience with Cognos Data Modules and Framework Manager for BI and analytics projects.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, including complex queries, performance optimization, and data manipulation.
• Experience working with large enterprise clients, particularly in the banking or insurance industry.
• Knowledge of BI data modeling techniques (Star schema, Snowflake) and experience with Qlik or similar BI tools.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and address opportunities for process improvements and optimizations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of data governance practices and how they apply to BI solutions.
