Roles and Responsibilities

• Build and maintain database deployment pipelines, primarily focusing on Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Update, troubleshoot, and enhance existing build scripts with new functionality.
• Develop and maintain Python-based solutions, including REST API development and scripting.
• Work with Unix and scripting tools to automate tasks and optimize workflows.
• Utilize GitHub for version control, including branching, merging, and API integrations with Swagger.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth database operations and integration.
• Manage and implement data recovery strategies, backup methods, and data protection mechanisms.
• Monitor cloud-based databases and resolve issues related to performance and optimization.
• Focus on maintaining and enhancing database deployment pipelines, using AWS and Python scripting.
• Troubleshoot and improve existing build scripts, incorporating new features as required.
• Use cloud tools to monitor, protect, and ensure the availability of deployed databases.

Required Key Skills

• Strong knowledge of database concepts, architecture, storage options, and optimization.
• Expertise in database operations including backup methods, monitoring, and recovery strategies.
• Proficient in AWS services and cloud architecture, particularly CloudFormation, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, IAM roles, and more.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Unix scripting, and REST API development.
• Familiarity with data virtualization technologies and their architecture.
• Proficient in GitHub and version control best practices (branching, merging, API calls with Swagger).
• Strong understanding of data protection and disaster recovery strategies.
• Knowledge of tools like Artifactory, KMS keys, and security configurations in AWS.
