The Senior Cloud Administrator is responsible for managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services, with a focus on Microsoft Azure. This role includes overseeing virtual environments, database services, access controls, and billing alerts. The administrator will leverage extensive experience with Windows Server administration and Azure to ensure the performance, security, and efficiency of cloud operations. Experience with Azure migrations is essential to support and facilitate the transition of applications and services to the cloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Azure cloud environments, including virtual machines, databases, and networking components.
- Oversee access controls, security policies, and billing alerts to ensure compliance and cost management.
- Administer and optimize Windows Server environments, ensuring stability and performance.
- Plan and execute Azure migrations, including assessing existing infrastructure, developing migration strategies, and executing data and application transfers.
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud services to resolve issues and optimize performance.
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions within Azure.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud services with on-premises infrastructure.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Proven experience managing and maintaining Windows Server environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Azure services, including virtual environments, database services, access controls, and billing management.
- Experience in planning and executing migrations to Azure, with a strong understanding of migration tools and best practices.
- Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure and services.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with IT teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
