Roles and Responsibilities

• Document and implement database requirements and solution designs
• Review and provide feedback on system design solutions impacting Cassandra environments
• Contribute to system capacity planning and scalability assessments
• Participate in the installation, configuration, and upgrade of Cassandra clusters
• Develop and maintain operational procedures and system documentation
• Perform system resource optimization, including performance tuning and load balancing
• Support major database updates to meet evolving business requirements
• Implement and monitor tools for resource management and system performance
• Administer system access, backups, data retention, and routine maintenance processes
• Participate in security compliance initiatives and systems management efforts
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production incidents and outages

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Cassandra DBA in production environments
• Deep understanding of Cassandra architecture, configuration, replication, and tuning
• Proficiency in patching, upgrading, and monitoring Cassandra clusters
• Strong experience with schema design, data modeling, and performance optimization
• Proven ability to support and troubleshoot large-scale distributed systems
• Experience working in a high-availability, 24x7 production environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams
