We are seeking a Sr. Azure Databricks Architect to design and lead modern, scalable data platforms on Azure. This role requires deep expertise in Databricks, Azure data services, and modern data tooling to drive cloud data architecture, migrations, and analytics solutions.
Required Experience & Skills
- 10+ years in data engineering or architecture, with 4+ years in a senior/architect role.
- Deep hands-on experience with Azure data services including Azure Data Factory (ADF), ADLS Gen2, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Expert-level experience designing and implementing Databricks-based ETL/ELT and analytics solutions.
- Strong practical experience with dbt for data transformation, modeling, and testing.
- Solid knowledge of data warehousing concepts (Kimball/Inmon, dimensional modeling, schema design).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or ARM templates.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end modern data architectures on Azure, including data lakes, warehouses, and analytics platforms.
- Lead development of data pipelines and transformation layers using Databricks, ADF, Synapse, and dbt.
- Define and enforce data modeling standards, best practices, and governance.
- Drive cloud data strategy, ensuring security, scalability, performance, and cost optimization.
- Lead on-prem to Azure migrations, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor data engineers on modern cloud data architecture practices.
