Job Description
Job Summary

As an AWS Architect specializing in newly established and/or acquired AWS environments, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, designing, planning, and providing your subject matter expertise to an enterprise client on their journey with an AWS Well-Architected cloud environment. Your primary responsibility will be to discover and review the current architecture, security, IAM accessibility, and overall current resource utilization and cost containment strategies. You will work with stakeholders to determine future state requirements and understand the organizational best practices that they currently utilize in their Azure cloud. Finally, you will deliver an Assessment Report draft of a Future-state architectural blueprint and present it to the stakeholders. Your expertise in cloud architecture, security, cost optimization, and compliance will be an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Review current AWS state architecture, resource use and utilization, security compliance standards, and cost optimization and create a PowerPoint deliverable to present to stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Create high-level architectural diagrams and documentation for AWS infrastructure, adhering to best practices and security standards of a well-architected cloud.
  • Understand and explain the potential benefits of utilizing other AWS-managed services as required such as EKS, Lamda, DynamoDB, DevOps tools, and business continuity.

 

Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • 8 years of working AWS well-architected design and Enterprise experience with proven and verifiable examples from multiple previous short-term engagements.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services with a key focus on architecture, security, and cost optimization.
  • Proven experience in designing and executing AWS greenfield deployments and M and A acquired environments.
  • SRE knowledge including Compute: Nomad, Consul, Kubernetes troubleshooting; Telemetry: Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch; CD: Spinnaker, TeamCity.
  • Strong proficiency in DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Terraform) and containerization technologies
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) tools and practices. 
  • Knowledge of AWS-specific disaster recovery concepts and hands-on experience with DR planning and implementation.
