We are seeking a SQL Developer to support modernization and stabilization of legacy systems while integrating with enterprise applications. This role involves working with MS Access/VBA, SQL Server, ETL pipelines, and ERP integrations to ensure reliable, performant, and secure data processing.
Responsibilities
- Reverse engineer, document, and maintain legacy MS Access 2003/VBA code (~100k lines) to stabilize critical workflows.
- Design and implement SQL Server schemas (~500 fields, including ~100 Q&A fields) to support modernized processing.
- Build robust ETL/data pipelines for file parsing, ingestion, validation, and reconciliation.
- Integrate with ERP systems (e.g., Infor) via APIs, bridge tables, and orchestrations to synchronize configuration and estimator data.
- Optimize database performance: indexing, query tuning, statistics, isolation levels, and transactional integrity.
- Establish coding standards, version control, technical documentation, and unit/integration test harnesses.
- Collaborate with business teams to map legacy rules to modern data structures and convert tribal knowledge into testable specifications.
- Support S4 migration preparation: identify dependencies, plan cutover strategies, and define rollback/safety procedures.
- Ensure secure handling of ERP data: authentication, role-based access, auditing, and compliance.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with MS Access/VBA, SQL Server, and relational database design.
- Proven expertise in ETL development, data ingestion, and reconciliation processes.
- Experience integrating databases with ERP systems via APIs or bridge tables.
- Knowledge of database performance tuning, indexing, and transactional integrity.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate legacy workflows into modern, maintainable solutions.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.
