Senior Property & Casualty Actuary

Roles and Responsibilities

• Analyze complex datasets to develop rate adjustment proposals, reserve estimates, and economic capital models.
• Support actuarial filings with insurance regulators and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Develop, implement, and enhance rates and rating plans using established methodologies, recommending improvements where appropriate.
• Conduct actuarial analysis to support product line management and strategic decision-making.
• Perform research and analysis for special projects within defined scopes.
• Serve as the Property & Casualty actuarial representative on project committees and cross-functional initiatives.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant actuarial experience in Property & Casualty insurance.
• Progress toward ACAS designation; candidates typically have completed significant coursework and are working toward FCAS.
• Strong experience in actuarial pricing, reserving, or capital modeling.
• Solid analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with large datasets and actuarial modeling techniques.
• Strong understanding of insurance product structures and risk analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Auto and Home insurance pricing preferred.
• Broader Property & Casualty experience also considered.
• Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex actuarial concepts clearly.

Education & Credentials

• Progress toward or attainment of ACAS designation required.
• Commitment to continuing education to maintain actuarial credentials.
• FCAS track strongly preferred for senior-level candidates.
