Summary
Seeking a Senior Principal Firmware Engineer with deep expertise in coherent optical modules, embedded firmware, and SoC-based platforms. This individual contributor role will lead firmware architecture, development, integration, and release for next-generation optical connectivity solutions, including coherent optics and co-packaged optics (CPO).
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop embedded firmware for coherent optical modules and related platforms.
- Lead firmware bring-up, validation, debugging, and production release activities.
- Develop bootloaders, firmware upgrade mechanisms, hardware abstraction layers, and control frameworks.
- Collaborate with hardware, DSP, validation, and manufacturing teams to resolve system-level issues.
- Drive firmware platform evolution, development processes, and technical best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across engineering teams.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of embedded firmware/software development experience.
- Strong expertise in coherent optical modules (400ZR, 800ZR, or similar) and CMIS-related standards.
- Experience with SoC-based embedded systems, MCU/DSP architectures, and firmware lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
- Strong hardware-software debugging, validation, and production support experience.
- Experience with version control, issue tracking, and CI/CD development environments.
Preferred
- Background in optical networking, optical modules, or optical semiconductors.
- Experience with coherent DSP platforms, calibration/control algorithms, and Co-Packaged Optics (CPO).
