Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day operational support for Linux systems, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure system availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with architecture teams to design, validate, and implement new system installations and configurations.
  • Lead the containerization efforts for Datacenter services (Docker, OpenShift).
  • Offer guidance on capacity planning and future infrastructure needs.
  • Drive the automation and orchestration of Linux environments using tools like Tanium, Orchestrator, and configuration management platforms.
  • Implement and manage configuration management using Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, Chef, or DSC.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation and operational tasks.

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration.
  • 2+ years of experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V).
  • Proven experience in converged infrastructure design and configuration.
  • Cluster management experience with SLES and/or Red Hat.
  • Proficiency with vCenter or Nutanix management tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a technical team.

 

Preferred
  • Experience with enterprise storage technologies (Dell/EMC, NetApp) and replication solutions.
  • Familiarity with storage protocols such as CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, and FC.
  • Experience with Cisco networking and server products, including UCS servers.
  • Understanding of core networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with both VMware hypervisors and UCS bare-metal deployments.
  • Strong documentation skills, including the creation of runbooks and environment overviews.
  • Experience with Azure IaaS, PaaS, and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools: Terraform, Packer, ARM templates, CloudFormation.
  • Exposure to enterprise service bus (ESB) platforms.
