Roles and Responsibilities

• Configure and manage Kafka clusters for high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR).
• Implement and maintain backup and restore strategies.
• Ensure security with encryption (SSL/TLS), access control, and authentication (SASL, Kerberos).
• Monitor Kafka performance and optimize cluster efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Document Kafka environment configurations and best practices.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure Kafka meets performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience managing Apache Kafka in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka architecture (brokers, ZooKeeper, Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams).
• Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, and security practices (SSL/TLS, SASL, Kerberos).
• Proficiency in monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, networking, and data flow management.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
