We are seeking an experienced Senior iOS Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade native iOS applications and supporting AWS cloud services.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Swift, Objective-C, iOS application architecture, AWS services, and offline-first mobile application development. This role involves building scalable, high-availability mobile solutions that support critical business operations, real-time data synchronization, secure backend integrations, and seamless user experiences.
The successful candidate will lead mobile application architecture, develop resilient mobile-to-cloud integrations, optimize application performance, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance native iOS applications using Swift, Objective-C, and modern concurrency frameworks.
- Architect and implement offline-first mobile applications with local data persistence, transactional queues, conflict resolution, and synchronization mechanisms.
- Develop peer-to-peer and edge synchronization solutions using frameworks such as Ditto or Infinite PeerConnect.
- Build and integrate mobile applications with AWS-based Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services and REST APIs.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and AWS Cognito or Microsoft Entra ID.
- Develop mobile workflows supporting barcode scanning, ticket validation, passenger manifests, check-in operations, and Bluetooth-connected peripheral devices.
- Implement reusable, configuration-driven UI components, dynamic forms, feature flags, and role-based application workflows.
- Support iPhone and iPad application development and ensure consistent performance across supported devices.
- Integrate mobile application monitoring and performance tools, including Dynatrace Mobile Real User Monitoring (RUM).
- Implement crash reporting, performance monitoring, accessibility, and application security best practices.
- Collaborate with backend and platform engineering teams on API contracts, contract testing, data schemas, and API idempotency.
- Optimize application performance, thread safety, crash resilience, and data integrity.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, capacity planning, iteration commitments, and Program Increment (PI) planning.
- Collaborate with distributed and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable enterprise mobile solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience developing enterprise-grade native iOS applications using Swift and Objective-C.
- Strong knowledge of iOS application architecture, mobile development frameworks, and modern concurrency models.
- Experience designing and implementing offline-first mobile applications.
- Hands-on experience with Core Data, local data persistence, transactional queueing, and synchronization mechanisms.
- Experience with peer-to-peer or edge synchronization frameworks such as Ditto or Infinite PeerConnect.
- Practical experience integrating mobile applications with AWS cloud services.
- Working knowledge of AWS API Gateway, Lambda, ECS Fargate, and Cognito.
- Experience developing or integrating REST APIs and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architectures.
- Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), secure authentication, and device-level data protection.
- Experience integrating external hardware peripherals, including barcode scanners and Bluetooth/BLE devices.
- Knowledge of mobile application performance optimization, thread safety, crash reporting, and accessibility standards such as VoiceOver.
- Experience with mobile application monitoring tools such as Dynatrace RUM.
- Strong understanding of API integration, contract testing, API idempotency, and mobile-to-cloud data synchronization.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum or SAFe development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise transportation, ticketing, reservation, passenger management, or point-of-sale systems.
- Experience developing mission-critical, high-availability mobile applications.
- Familiarity with Spring Boot microservices and enterprise backend integrations.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and enterprise identity management.
- SAFe training or certification.
- Experience leading sprint planning, capacity management, and cross-functional engineering activities.
