Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable API integrations with third-party platforms and internal systems
  • Implement and support RESTful, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs with strong authentication and versioning strategies
  • Lead complex data mapping and transformation initiatives across diverse data models and systems
  • Ensure secure, efficient, and maintainable integration solutions aligned with architectural standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Conduct code reviews, manage technical debt, and contribute to shared codebases and documentation
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and mentor team members on Agile practices and tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Work closely with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipeline integrations and deployment automation
  • Analyze API usage patterns and implement improvements for scalability and performance
  • Maintain a strong understanding of data architecture including MDM, ETL, reporting, and structured storage
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to manage integration expectations and timelines

 

Qualifications
  • Proven experience designing and implementing integrations with third-party platforms
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, authentication methods (OAuth2, API keys), versioning, and analytics
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages: C#, Java, Python, and Node.js
  • Experienced with API protocols including REST, SOAP, and GraphQL
  • Skilled in JSON, XML, and modern data exchange formats and standards
  • Familiarity with education data standards is a plus
  • Proficient with Jira for managing tasks, sprints, and software releases
  • Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and leading cross-functional teams
  • Deep understanding of secure API design, service boundaries, and enterprise architecture best practices
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
  • Experience with data platforms, integration frameworks, and middleware is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

 

Preferred Skills
  • Background in education technology or experience with education-specific data standards (e.g., Ed-Fi, IMS Global)
  • Experience working in regulated environments with high data sensitivity
  • Knowledge of integration tools or platforms (e.g., Mulesoft, Boomi, Azure API Management, etc.)
  • Exposure to cloud-native application development (AWS, Azure, GCP)
