We are seeking a Senior GitHub Platform Engineer to architect, implement, and manage an enterprise-scale GitHub platform. This role focuses on GitHub Enterprise administration, platform automation, CI/CD modernization, security, governance, and developer experience. The ideal candidate will lead GitHub platform engineering initiatives, automate platform management, and drive adoption of GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) and GitHub Copilot across the organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Administer and manage GitHub Enterprise Cloud (EMU) and GitHub Enterprise Server environments.
- Design and implement enterprise governance, policy-as-code, branch protection, and identity integration using SAML/SCIM.
- Automate platform administration using Terraform, GitHub APIs, GitHub Apps, webhooks, and GitHub CLI.
- Design, deploy, and scale GitHub Actions self-hosted runners on Kubernetes using Actions Runner Controller (ARC).
- Develop and maintain reusable GitHub Actions workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), including CodeQL, Dependabot, secret scanning, and security policy enforcement.
- Lead migrations from legacy source control and CI/CD platforms to GitHub Enterprise.
- Drive GitHub Copilot adoption, developer self-service, and platform best practices.
- Monitor platform health, security posture, usage metrics, and optimize GitHub licensing and consumption.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on GitHub Enterprise administration experience.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Actions Runner Controller (ARC).
- Strong knowledge of GitHub Actions, Terraform, GitHub REST/GraphQL APIs, GitHub Apps, and GitHub CLI.
- Experience implementing GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), CodeQL, Dependabot, and secret scanning.
- Experience integrating GitHub with SAML/SCIM identity providers (Entra ID or Okta).
- Experience migrating repositories and CI/CD pipelines from legacy platforms.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD security, DevSecOps, and cloud authentication (OIDC).
- Excellent troubleshooting, automation, communication, and collaboration skills.
