Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Citrix Engineer with extensive hands-on expertise in designing, building, deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting large-scale enterprise Citrix environments. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end Citrix engineering initiatives, from solution architecture and infrastructure design through implementation, migration, optimization, and operational support.
The role requires strong technical expertise across Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), Citrix DaaS, Provisioning Services (PVS), Machine Creation Services (MCS), Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, VMware vSphere, and enterprise identity integration.
The candidate must have proven experience migrating users and workloads between Citrix CVAD Sites, managing master images, and performing advanced image maintenance and reverse imaging for VMware Tools upgrades, operating system upgrades, and other infrastructure changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, configure, upgrade, and maintain enterprise-scale Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) on-premises environments.
- Lead end-to-end Citrix infrastructure implementations, including architecture, high availability (HA), disaster recovery considerations, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Support Citrix DaaS (Citrix Cloud) fundamentals, hybrid deployments, and enterprise identity integration.
- Plan and execute migrations between Citrix CVAD Sites, including pilot testing, phased user and workload migration, validation, rollback planning, and post-migration support.
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) for Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) environments and Machine Creation Services (MCS) for persistent Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
- Manage master image lifecycles, including image creation, maintenance, versioning, testing, promotion, rollback, and deployment across environments.
- Perform reverse imaging and image maintenance activities for VMware Tools upgrades, Windows operating system upgrades, and other infrastructure changes requiring image conversion or modification.
- Configure and troubleshoot Citrix StoreFront, including stores, authentication methods, internal and external beacons, and Citrix Workspace app integration.
- Manage user profiles and containers using Citrix Profile Management (UPM) and FSLogix, including profile configuration, file share permissions, profile corruption, and logon performance issues.
- Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize Group Policy Objects (GPOs), including loopback processing, security filtering, performance tuning, and security hardening.
- Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory and enterprise identity environments, including OU design, delegated administration, least-privilege access, and multi-domain or multi-forest configurations.
- Troubleshoot DNS, Kerberos authentication, domain trust relationships, and identity-related issues affecting Citrix sessions and user access.
- Support VMware vSphere and vCenter operations, including templates, cloning, virtual machine provisioning, VMware Tools management, and virtual infrastructure performance troubleshooting.
