Senior AWS Cloud Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS cloud solutions for large-scale data storage and migration.
• Lead on-premises to AWS data migration initiatives, including planning, execution, validation, and cutover activities.
• Configure and manage AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Route 53, DataSync, S3 Replication, SageMaker, Glue, FSx, ECR, ELB, and Secrets Manager.
• Implement AWS DataSync and S3 replication solutions for high-volume data transfers and disaster recovery.
• Design and support large-scale data ingestion, archival, backup, and recovery architectures.
• Develop and deploy machine learning solutions using AWS SageMaker and Jupyter Notebooks.
• Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or equivalent platforms.
• Collaborate with business, infrastructure, network, database, and security teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud, storage, and data migration issues.
• Execute proof-of-concepts (POCs) and provide technical leadership on cloud initiatives.
• Coordinate onsite-offshore teams and provide project status reporting to stakeholders and leadership.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of cloud engineering experience with 4+ years of hands-on AWS expertise.
• Strong experience with AWS DataSync, Amazon S3 (replication, lifecycle policies, versioning, encryption), and AWS SageMaker.
• Proven experience migrating large-scale datasets (TBs to PBs) from on-premises environments to AWS.
• Expertise in AWS networking, including VPN, Direct Connect, and bandwidth optimization.
• Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of IAM, KMS, encryption, security, governance, and compliance best practices.
• Experience with CI/CD automation and DevOps practices.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and team collaboration skills.
