An experienced Scrum Master is needed to support a team relatively new to Agile Methodology. Specifically, the Scrum Master is responsible for ensuring that Scrum is understood and enacted by the Team also adheres to Scrum theory, practices, and rules. The Scrum Master is a participative leader for the Scrum Team who helps remove impediments to the Development Team’s progress and who understands and practices agility. The Scrum Master will help everyone change these interactions to maximize the value created by the Team. In addition, this Scrum Master creates high-performing teams that share a common vision, goals, and metrics. They enable teams to collaborate, challenge, and hold each other accountable to achieve outstanding results.
Responsibilities
- Promotes and supports Agile and Scrum as defined in the Scrum Guide and SAFe framework.
- Ensures that all Scrum ceremonies take place with the proper attendees, ensures that attendees understand their purpose, and facilitates Scrum ceremonies as requested or needed.
- Promotes collaboration and tries to achieve synergy between team members and with other teams, Products, and Components.
- Supports Product Owner/Manager(s) by finding techniques for effective Product Backlog management, and understanding product planning in an empirical environment.
- Resolves cross-team dependencies and impediments to the Development Team’s progress that the team is unable to resolve themselves.
- Demonstrates a growth mindset and zest for learning new technical and soft people skills.
- Effectively analyzes and leverages empirical data (i.e., metrics) to continuously improve quality, transparency, delivery predictability, and organizational decision-making.
Qualifications
- Scrum Master certification (CSP, PSM II) preferred
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in agile practices for Product Management.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques
- Good business acumen skills to engage business leaders
- Experience in applying a wide variety of well-known patterns and techniques, e.g. TDD, SOLID, CI/CD, INVEST, User Stories, agile estimation
