Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement SCADA configurations for substation projects using existing RTU standards.
• Create and maintain point assignment sheets in partnership with substation design engineers.
• Apply communication and network protocols as specified by network engineering teams.
• Diagnose and resolve data communication issues in coordination with system operators and relay test personnel.
• Remotely program devices such as reclosers and capacitor banks for new installations, equipment replacements, and downstream protection updates.
• Configure and maintain control systems and databases to support new SCADA device installations and updates.
• Travel to job sites as needed to configure, troubleshoot, and implement SCADA configurations.

Required Experience & Skills

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in SCADA systems or automation engineering.
• Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and apply complex system configurations.
• Demonstrated professional work ethic and solid attendance record.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• 2–5 years of experience in the electric utility industry.
• Hands-on experience with SCADA systems and smart grid technologies (e.g., SEL relays, RTUs, gateways).
• Familiarity with distribution/transmission protection schemes and relay testing procedures.
