Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the SME for SAP IQ in design, development, tuning, and support capacities.
• Build, maintain, and optimize data models (conceptual/logical/physical).
• Design and maintain DDL/DML scripts; implement stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues (e.g., locks, blocks, long-running queries).
• Automate data loads/unloads, exports/imports, purging, and monitoring.
• Implement and enforce data management and governance policies.
• Work with production support teams on incident resolution and database optimization.
• Refresh non-prod environments (UAT, QA, DEV) with production-like data.
• Collaborate on database architecture, capacity planning, and roadmap design.
• Apply patches and ensure environments are running with the latest SAP IQ and OS updates.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in SAP IQ (Sybase IQ) as a DBA or developer.
• Working knowledge of SAP ASE and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong SQL scripting skills, including stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Unix Shell scripting and Python.
• Solid understanding of database design principles and relational/dimensional modeling.
• Familiarity with backup/recovery strategies and database lifecycle management.
