Must-Have Technical / Functional Skills

• Strong hands-on experience building solutions using the native SAP HANA ecosystem and components.
• Deep understanding of:
  • SAP HANA Architecture
  • HANA Life Cycle Management
  • Latest features of SAP HANA 2.0
  • Data Warehousing concepts & analytics
• Expertise in developing and consuming SAP HANA artifacts such as tables, table functions, views, and procedures.
• Ability to design and develop high-performance, optimized code for processing large data volumes.
• Experience in creating data models to support diverse reporting and analytics requirements.
• Strong proficiency in Performance Tuning, including:
  • SQL query optimization
  • Plan analysis (Explain/Viz Plan)
  • Data model optimization
• Hands-on experience in SQLScript, calculation views, and advanced HANA modeling techniques.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Database Design & Development

• Design, develop, and optimize HANA data models including Calculation Views, Analytical Views, and Attribute Views.
• Implement SQLScript procedures, functions, and table functions to support complex business logic.
• Create and manage schemas, tables, indexes, and partitions to ensure performance and efficiency.

2. Data Integration

• Develop and maintain ETL processes using SAP Data Services, SLT, or similar tools to load data into SAP HANA.
• Integrate data from SAP and non-SAP systems into HANA.

3. Performance Optimization

• Analyze and tune SQL queries for high performance and minimal latency.
• Apply SAP HANA best practices for in-memory computing, columnar storage, and model optimization.

4. Security & Compliance

• Configure roles, privileges, and authorizations within SAP HANA.
• Ensure compliance with organizational data governance, auditing, and security standards.

5. Reporting & Analytics

• Support analytics solutions such as SAP BW on HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, and other BI tools.
• Develop calculation views and data models for real-time reporting and advanced analytics.

6. Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and functional teams to gather and understand requirements.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including data flows, modeling logic, and system architecture.

7. Maintenance & Support

• Monitor SAP HANA system health, performance, and usage.
• Troubleshoot issues related to data models, SQL queries, integrations, and performance.
