Roles and Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end SAP application architectures aligned with business strategy and enterprise standards.
• Develop and maintain reference architectures in collaboration with application, platform, integration, data, and security teams.
• Drive Clean Core adoption, clearly distinguishing SAP standard, in-app extensibility, and side-by-side extensions.
• Review and approve solution designs to minimize customization, technical debt, and maintenance risk.
• Establish application-level standards for monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Evaluate and influence total cost of ownership (TCO), including build, run, support, and upgrade costs.

Technical Qualifications

• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP application and functional architecture across core business domains.
• Deep understanding of SAP extensibility models and Clean Core–aligned design patterns.
• Experience with application monitoring, observability, and operational readiness in SAP landscapes.
• Proven ability to assess custom code, enhancements, and workflows for simplification or retirement.
• Strong design focus on maintainability, performance, and upgradeability.

Soft Skills

• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to balance speed, quality, and long-term cost.
• Excellent communicator capable of explaining architecture trade-offs and cost implications to diverse stakeholders.
• Highly collaborative, bringing together multiple engineering teams to deliver shared solutions.
• Comfortable constructively challenging designs in Architecture Review Board (ARB) forums.
• Acts as a trusted advisor and partner to IS&T and business teams.
