Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineers, PMs, stakeholders) to gather and clarify requirements.
• Refactor and extend existing Rails applications to support new backend APIs and microservices.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and well-tested backend services.
• Contribute to and maintain high standards for engineering quality, documentation, and system design.
• Manage tasks and deliverables independently, while keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
• Ensure smooth integration with AWS infrastructure and Dockerized environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expertise in Ruby on Rails – including ActiveRecord, background jobs, and API development.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Docker in production environments.
• Solid understanding of microservice architecture and RESTful API design.
• Excellent attention to detail, with a passion for clean, maintainable code.
• Strong communication skills – able to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in Health-Tech or Fintech environments is a plus.
• Familiarity with secure data handling and compliance standards is highly desirable.
