Responsible for performing detailed quality control reviews across the mortgage servicing lifecycle to ensure all processes are executed accurately, compliantly, and in accordance with federal, state, investor, and regulatory requirements. Manages a pipeline of loans and validates end-to-end servicing actions, documentation, and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Review servicing documentation to confirm accurate processing of payments, escrow functions, payoffs, and application of funds.
- Audit 1098/1099 forms, rate adjustments, notices, and other regulatory communications for accuracy and timely delivery.
- Verify proper handling of loans in bankruptcy, foreclosure, and loss mitigation, ensuring all eligible assistance programs and required solicitations were offered.
- Confirm correct servicing of loans impacted by FEMA-declared disasters, hazard claims (monitored/unmonitored), and lender-placed insurance (LPI), including proper notices and claim filings.
- Validate accuracy of mortgage insurance claims, credit pulls, and document retention.
- Ensure compliance with foreclosure timelines, lien release processes, and transfer-of-servicing requirements.
- Maintain consistent delivery to QA targets and ensure all reviews meet regulatory and investor standards.
Knowledge & Experience
- 24–36 months of U.S. mortgage servicing experience.
- Strong understanding of mortgage servicing processes, documentation, and terminology.
