We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with over 5 years of expertise in the implementation, installation, configuration, customization, and upgrade of DMS/EMS systems for utilities or system operators.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the implementation and support of DMS/EMS systems for utilities and system operators.
- Handle installation, configuration, customization, and upgrades of platforms such as GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21), GE eTerra, Siemens Spectrum Power, OSI Monarch, or similar products.
- Work with programming languages such as C/C++, Java, and Oracle Database to support system integration and automation tasks.
- Engage with database management systems such as Oracle and SQL Server, including basic scripting for configuration and automation.
- Apply strong knowledge of power system concepts – including Generation, Transmission, and Distribution – to ensure proper system setup and functionality.
- Work with network applications such as Power Flow, Contingency Analysis, State Estimator, and Load Forecasting to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Ensure seamless communication between systems with experience in communication protocols such as IEC 101/104, DNP3, Modbus, and ICCP.
- Troubleshoot and optimize systems across Linux and Windows platforms.
- Ensure network security, redundancy, and failover mechanisms are implemented in the control center environment to maintain continuous system operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with at least one of the following DMS/EMS platforms: GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21), GE eTerra, Siemens Spectrum Power, or OSI Monarch.
- Strong experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases and basic scripting for system configuration and automation.
- Strong understanding of power system operations, including generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
- Proven track record of working with IEC 101/104, DNP3, Modbus, and ICCP communication protocols.
- Knowledge of network security, redundancy, and failover mechanisms in a control center environment.
