Job Description

  • Good understanding covering the definition, configuration and maintenance and in some cases the execution of Focus build process’s e.g. WP WI lifecycles, transports lifecycle, master and build projects, release cycles, retrofit approach, dual track approach, change control landscapes etc. Coordinate release content and consult on efficient and effective sequencing and scheduling of transports.
  • Work closely to inform and support the users of the Solman framework specifically the product build teams, delivery leads, technical release engineers, technical cutover engineers, SAP Basis team so that they understand current processes and ways of working.
  • Ensures that there is defined and monitored KPI data to support continuous improvement activity. E.g. Release progress reporting – measures and metrics KPIs.
  • Actively keep up to date with technical development and configuration management approaches to assess value in implementing.
  • Engage with key stakeholders – e.g solution architects, agile build teams, SAP Basis, SAP Vendor, Technical Release Engineer, Technical Cutover Engineer.
  • Keep a focus on automation opportunities to speed up delivery / release cycles.
  • Actively work to support release planning and technical cutover run book reviews and plans.
  • Ensure SAP landscape management validation, synchronization, and stabilization in coordination with the Delivery leads, platform architects and scrum masters.
  • Enabling tracking the test progress of Work Items/Work Packages testing during different phases (Pre Int, Integration, BRT, OAT and Performance) with respective test teams – Release Readiness 
  • Help to drive the use and development of scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms.
  • Research new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies and analyse their application to current configuration management needs.
  • Pro-actively analyse current processes and practices, suggesting and driving improvements to the promotional model.
  • Is results oriented and has a high degree of accountability, commitment, and responsibility.
  • Manage / plan technical regional activities on application according the Technical team.
  • Manage Release Functional Cutover plan & Go Live on a global basis.
  • Facilitate issues/conflicts resolution for Release Management (during release preparation or cut-over phase)
  • Monitor and track Release enhancements status, identifying issues/conflicts.
