We are seeking a Principal Solution Architect to support a high-profile Enterprise Architecture team for a leading travel and transportation organization. In this role, you will translate complex marketing, loyalty, and customer data requirements into scalable, high-performance solution architectures. The ideal candidate will quickly assess system bottlenecks, optimize data flows, and design integrations across a complex Customer Data Platform (CDP) and MarTech ecosystem while ensuring alignment with enterprise governance, scalability, and data privacy standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assess the current marketing and customer data ecosystem to identify performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
- Design high-level solution architectures, data flow diagrams, data lineage maps, and API/interface specifications.
- Evaluate multiple technical approaches for integration challenges and present tradeoffs, risks, and business impacts to stakeholders.
- Partner with marketing, product, and engineering teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, governance frameworks, and data privacy regulations (GDPR/CCPA).
- Support integration strategies involving real-time event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, and data pipelines.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or related technical leadership roles.
- Strong experience designing solutions for loyalty programs, customer profiles, segmentation, personalization, and omni-channel marketing initiatives.
- Expertise in integration patterns, event-driven architectures, Kafka/MSK, APIs, and ETL/data pipeline technologies (Airflow, NiFi preferred).
- Solid understanding of Customer Data Platforms (CDP), identity resolution, and data modeling principles.
- Hands-on knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, containers, serverless technologies, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and networking/security fundamentals.
- Broad technical understanding of APIs, microservices, CRM platforms (Salesforce), and MarTech solutions (Adobe, Braze).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the travel, hospitality, aviation, or transportation industries.
- Familiarity with booking lifecycle processes (Search, Offer, Order, Fulfillment) and Passenger Service Systems (PSS).
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
- Experience with PII governance, consent management, and regulatory compliance.
