Power BI Architect

We are seeking a skilled Power BI Architect to design and implement robust BI solutions that transform business data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will lead the development of BI platforms, data models, and reporting layers, ensuring alignment with business requirements, scalability, and data governance standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and implement BI platforms, data models, and reporting layers tailored to business needs.
• Develop logical and physical data warehouse designs, including schemas, partitions, and dimensional models (star and snowflake).
• Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines, including CDC and data flow processes.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure ETL processes align with overall BI architecture.
• Define standards for KPIs, metrics, naming conventions, and dashboard design.
• Maintain metadata, documentation, and data lineage to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Implement data security and role-based access controls within BI systems.
• Develop reporting specifications and support tools, including Power BI, SSRS, and Business Objects.
• Enable self-service analytics by providing governed datasets and semantic layers.
• Standardize dashboards and reporting formats across business teams.
• Monitor and enhance BI performance across queries, ETL jobs, and system configurations.
• Review BI environments (DEV, QA, PROD) and recommend improvements.
• Mentor BI developers and junior team members on best practices and technical standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to BI and analytics teams.
• Engage with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective BI solutions.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide project updates and ensure alignment throughout initiatives.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing enterprise BI solutions.
• Strong expertise in Power BI, data modeling, and reporting.
• Proficient in ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling.
• Knowledge of BI tools such as SSRS and Business Objects.
• Experience implementing data governance, security, and access controls.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proven experience mentoring and guiding BI teams.
