We are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL DBA with expertise in EDB Postgres, Postgres Distributed (PGD), and AWS RDS to manage, optimize, and maintain scalable, high-availability database environments. This role involves database architecture, migration, performance tuning, automation, and collaboration across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain PostgreSQL, EDB Postgres, PGD, and AWS RDS clusters in development, QA, and production environments.
• Provide leadership in PostgreSQL architecture, upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning.
• Automate and optimize database operations, improving efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet application data requirements and recommend optimal database solutions.
• Perform regular maintenance, including backups, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Manage database migrations and integrations across multiple systems.
• Participate in on-call support and work with cloud vendors (AWS, EDB) for issue resolution.
• Define and execute strategic database initiatives, improving infrastructure and supporting long-term goals.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL administration, EDB Postgres, PGD, and AWS RDS.
• Strong background in PostgreSQL performance tuning, replication, and high availability.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL procedural languages (PL/pgSQL, PL/Python, etc.) and SQL optimization.
• Experience with PostgreSQL monitoring tools (PEM, Splunk, Dynatrace) and Linux systems (Oracle Linux preferred).
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Bash, KSH, Perl) and cloud-based database solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and time zones.

Preferred

• Experience with cloud-managed PostgreSQL systems (AWS Aurora).
• Certifications in PostgreSQL or AWS RDS.
